Kicking off our new fanclub space with a moment of reflection. It’s been 20 years since One of the Ones — the album that started it all. This plaque was a gift from Derek and Kyla, who came into my world after seeing me as Hermes in Hadestown. They later invited me to their home in Iowa for a private concert, where Derek surprised me with this. That album? I cut it on a shoestring. Just me in a tiny New York studio, begging for an hour of time. I’d just left Atlantic Records and had an episode of The Apprentice about to air. I needed something to sell—anything to stay afloat. That scrappy little record kept me going. 20 years later, One of the Ones is still out there. And yeah, “I Should Go” is still the most played track. A reminder to take what you have, no matter how small, and make the most out of it. Here’s to the beginnings that grow into something lasting. – Levi- Levi Kreis's Post
